About ACCESS

Loonie for Learning

Loonies for Learning will support the education projects of ACCESS: Allowing Children a Chance at Education in the developing world.

Each school is invited to participate in the Loonies for Learning fundraising initiative for the work of ACCESS in the developing world.

Every student in the school board is asked to donate $1.00 toward this project. Donations will support Haiti in restoring and rebuilding, as well as Educational Opportunities in Haiti, Tanzania and Dominican Republic. Participating schools will receive a plaque (see below). Collected monies can be sent as a cheque payable to “DPCDSB” and forwarded to CEC Religious Education Department.

Called to Action Plaque

By participating in this initiative, schools in the DPCDSB have the chance to earn a plate on their Called to Action Plaques that have been distributed to every school in the board.

Each year that a school community participates in fundraisers put forth by ACCESS, a label and certificate will be issued to the school to recognize its school’s involvement (e.g. Loonies for Learning, 2009-2010).

The plaque will display the collection of labels distributed annually and should be displayed in a prominent area of your school.
